Typhoon Parma (Typhoon Pepeng) Legazpi, Albay (11 AM)

Here is another video we found on YouTube.  A Philippines resident in Legazpi, Albay uses their cell phone to film the sheer power of the latest Philippines typhoon, Typhoon Parma (known locally as “Typhoon Pepeng“).

We hope he was able to stay safe while he was filming this Philippines typhoon.  It’s likely that many amateur videographers who try this never get a chance to release their video or pictures because they get blown away!  Please stay safe and secure if you’re going to attempt this kind of thing!  You’re quite literally taking your life into your hands!

Super Typhoon Pepeng Hits Philippines

This video is from GMA, a local television station and broadcasting company in the Philippines.  This Philippines Typhoon video on Typhoon Pepeng is presented entirely in Tagalog, the most common dialect of the 29 dialects spoken in the Philippines.  It’s just further documenting the devastation from the Philippines flood which resulted from the last typhoon which blew through the Philippines only a week ago.

Typhoon Pepeng Video from YouTube and GMA Broadcasting

Although we found this video on the Philippines Typhoon (Typhoon Pepeng) on YouTube, the video is courtesy Of GMA Brodcasting.  Unfortunately the sound isn’t very good on this video, but it’s good enough to understand what they are saying about Typhoon Pepeng and the ongoing devastation caused by the Philippines flood.

Philippines Typhoon RSS Rated “Grade A” By Feedage.com

The Philippines Typhoon website staff are working hard behind the scenes for Philippines flood victims to get all of this website’s pages finished, optimized for the search engines and online, all while keeping up with the latest updates on the Philippines flood victims from Typhoon Ondoy (know internationally as “Typhoon Ketsana“), as well as updates on Typhoon Pepeng now threatening the Philippines coast. In spite of all of this, we’ve somehow managed to get out an RSS feed for our blog posts. Even better, we’ve apparently gotten back a good grade from one of the feed aggregators! Way to go, Guys!

Here is our RSS Feed: http://www.philippinestyphoon.org/feed

Philippines Typhoon Website: Thumbs up from Feedage.com!

Feedage Grade A ratedRight here to the left is the badge Feedage.com gave the Philippines Typhoon website RSS feed. This will be helpful for Philippines flood victims as it will give more exposure to our cause. We think Philippines flood victims need all of the exposure we can get for them right now as we fight the effects of Typhoon Ondoy (“Typhoon Ketsana“) while bracing for Typhoon Pepeng.

Who is Feedage.com? What do they have to do with the Philippines Flood or Philippines Typhoon!

Feedage.com is one of the biggest RSS feed aggregators on the internet. When someone submits a site to them, they archive the RSS feed and set it up in such a way that site members can find the feed and get it into their RSS readers, such as Google Reader. They have nothing to do with the Philippines typhoon website, or any of our efforts for Philippines flood victims, except to the extent that, now that we have submitted our feed to them, once other people find the feed on the Feedage.com website and put it in their favorites, more and more people will be getting the updates on the Philippines typhoon and Philippines flood. Furthermore, if enough people favorite it and bookmark it, we can expect to rise to the top of Google rankings in pretty short order.

In any case, when we submitted the RSS feed for our blog to them, they immediately came back with a grade: As you can see above, we got an ‘A’! Kudos to all of the Philippines Typhoon admin team who are working so feverishly on this.

We’ll be proudly displaying the Feedage.com badge on our home page. Thanks to everyone for all of your help in making this possible!

Use this RSS Feed to Help Philippines Typhoon and Philippines Flood Victims

So you’re strapped for cash and can’t send any financial support for the victims? Can’t physically get to the victims to offer direct assistance in some way? You can still help, and you can do so using the information right here in this blog post, and sitting right there in front of your computer! “What could that be”, you ask? Simply get the word out! Here’s how:

If you’d like to help, simply go to http://www.feedage.com, sign up for a free account there (if you don’t already have one) find the feed (listed in this article, above) and rate the feed well (hopefully a ‘5′!) Then make a positive comment about the feed (which consists of all of our blog posts). Finally, you can bookmark that URL on all of your favorite bookmarking sites.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our RSS feed yourself by clicking on the link above, or by clicking on “Entries RSS” to the left of any of the pages on this site in the sidebar under the “Meta” section.

Once again, thanks to all of our readers and supporters for making this possible.

Philippines Flood of Woes – 29 Sep 09

The Philippines government says 240 people have died in severe flooding caused by Tropical Storm Ketsana.  The disaster has also left more than 450,000 people displaced.

While flood waters recede, questions about the government’s response to the crisis have begun to surface.  With homes still under water, many Filipinos remain homeless and despondent.

Al Jazeera’s Wayne Hay reports.

Dozens Killed in Philippines Typhoon & Philippines Flood

Typhoon Ketsana has left the main Philippines island of Luzon in chaos.

Helicopters and inflatable boats are being used to rescue people stranded in the capital, Manila.

More than 50 people have been killed.  Most were drowned by floods triggered by the country’s heaviest rainfall for more than 40 years.  Some fell victim to collapsing walls.

Surviving the Philippines Typhoon and Philippines Flood

With the flood waters receding on Sunday those able to get to their homes were trying to salvage what they could.

[George Andrada, Bus Driver]:

“This is all too much.  It’s a disaster.  It happened very fast. Suddenly everything was under water. I wasn’t able to save anything but the shirt I’m wearing.”
