As of 10-11-2009 (Sunday, 4 pm): The flood is now leveling down here at Pakil. Other areas in Laguna (aside from Pakil and its barrios) still affected are: Mabitac, Famy, Siniloan, Kalayaan, Lumban, Sta. Cruz, Bay, Victoria, Calamba, San Pedro.. Particularly places near rivers or the lake itself.

May we continuously pray for those who are still in great need of love and support… especially our kababayans in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, Metro Manila (particularly – Pasig and Marikina) and Rizal as well as in other parts of the country… for the emotional healing from the traumatic experience and long term provision for those who lost everything because the relief help they are currently receiving is just short term… and that crime rate won’t increase since some are taking advantage of the situation.. May we also realize how valuable God’s creations are…
Everyday can be bayanihan day.

On Sept. 26, the Philippine capital Manila and its neighboring provinces suffered one of nature’s worst beating. Typhoon Ondoy, international code name Ketsana, poured more than a month’s worth of rain in six hours, submerging most parts of… the bustling metropolis, drowning at least a hundred people as of press time. My prayers to the victims, and may we emerge victorious and live by the lessons of this tragedy. (Photos by Reuters. Music by Ennio Morricone, “Love Theme” from “Cinema Paradiso”). Philippines Flood Appeal – STIR our world, donate now to World Vision
On 26 September 2009, Typhoon Ketsana, known locally as Ondoy, ushered in wind speeds of up to 110kph, brought a months rain in less than 7 hours and killed at least 100 people making it the worst disaster to hit the capital in decades.
Typhoon Ketsana submerged 80% of the capital in its wake, and has affected over 2 million people in Manila and neighbouring provinces. Thousands of homes, many of them poor settlements by rivers, have been damaged. Many people have lost everything to ceiling-high flood waters that also brought mud, debris and garbage, and left victims on their roofs for as long as 20 hours without food or water.
These Filipino people need you to STIR , right now:
